Ann Hosmer is a seasoned trainer with expertise in the development, implementation and evaluation of specialized programs, with special emphasis upon personal empowerment, effective communication skills, conflict resolution, and employment readiness. Besides delivering direct services to target populations such as at-risk youth and adults re-entering their communities, Ann provides training on a variety of topics to organizations seeking professional development for staff.
Ann has fifteen years of experience teaching public school in three Maryland school systems, eighteen years in the private practice of financial services, and over ten years delivering training to at-risk youth and adults. Ann discovered that by serving adult populations, Power/Excel could enhance the positive impact upon youth.
Certified in community and family mediation, Ann has conducted workshops and courses for: the Mentoring Project at the Maryland State Department of Education, the Baltimore City Public Schools, the BCPSS Department of Violence Prevention, the After School Institute, the Department of Public Safety and Correction, Prisoners Aid Association of MD, Inc., Christopher Place, Supportive Housing Group, Baltimore Station and more.
Ann is certified by the National Institute of Corrections as an Offender Workforce Development Specialist (OWDS) Master Trainer. She is a featured columnist for Womanscope and a contributing author to the book entitled The Spirit of Women Entrepreneurs.
