Community-based Re-entry Programs

Christopher Place Employment Academy
724 Falls Road
Baltimore, Maryland

Sponsored by Catholic Charities, Christopher Place serves men in transition form prison, substance abuse, and homelessness.  Each class, of between ten and twenty students, arrives dressed in a crisp shirt, tie and trousers for a Power/Excel program meeting twice weekly for 2 hours/session for seven weeks.  Each class attends a series of instructional sessions to prepare them for the world of work and a new chapter in life.  Power/Excel begins with the 6-hour Success Seminar to create bonding and develop a mindset for positive change. The next session begins the course entitled Powerful Communication and Conflict Management.  Following is How to Make Money and Make Money Work for You.  Participants receive a Certificate of Completion and students demonstrating outstanding performance are eligible for a letter of recommendation.
