PowerExcel.net provides professional development training to corporations and non-profits seeking to increase productivity by improving work place culture. PowerExcel engages professional trainers for all workshops and seminars. All of the trainers are speakers in education, business, and industry.

Ann Hosmer, Founder is a seasoned trainer with expertise in the development, implementation and evaluation of specialized programs, with special emphasis upon personal empowerment, and effective communication skills. Targeted groups include educators, businesses, non-profits, adults re-entering the workforce, and various special populations.

Miss Hosmer’s expertise combines hands-on experience in education with the practical knowledge attained in the business world. Her professional experience includes over fifteen years of teaching in three Maryland school systems, eighteen years in the private practice of financial services, and over a decade delivering workshops to educators, administrators, non-profits and businesses. Much of her work in recent years was centered upon the design and presentation of programs for ex-offenders in pro-social communication, and work place readiness. Miss Hosmer holds an M.A. from the University or Northern Colorado, a B.A. from Washington College, and a CLU from the American College.

Miss Hosmer’s work force development credentials include certification as a Global Career Development Facilitator and certification by the National Institute of Corrections as an Offender Workforce Development Specialist (OWDS) Trainer. She has over 70 hours of certification in alternative dispute resolution, and has served as a volunteer mediator for the Baltimore Community Mediation Program. Miss Hosmer has published articles on effective pro-social communication and conflict resolution for Womanscope Magazine and is a contributing author to The Spirit of Women Entrepreneurs. Some of her most recent awards are: the WMAR TV Jefferson Award for Public Service, 2007; and the American Red Cross Hometown Heroes Award for Education, 2007.

Some of the organizations for whom Miss Hosmer has presented programs are: Catholic Charities, the National Association of Counties, Rehabilitation Services, Inc., The Baltimore Teachers Union, The Department of Public Safety and Correction, Maryland State Department of Education, Baltimore City Public Schools’ Department of Violence Prevention, the Baltimore Teachers Union, and Raise the Bar, an annual conference in work force development sponsored by Power Net of Dayton, Ohio.
